On February 1, 2012 EUNIC in Brussels organised a lunch event for all the new interns starting at the various national institutes for culture in Brussels.

Gathering around lunch at the British Council served as a nice way to welcome the new interns and offer them an opportunity to get to know each other and meet their predecessors. The successful event brought together junior professionals with shared interest who are going to be based in Brussels for the next 2 to 6 months and with the intent to spark connections between the interns, further EUNIC collaborations and knowledge about the role of EUNIC as a key player.
 
Among the participants, the Danish cultural institute was well-represented with the presence of their “veteran” interns as well as their new arrivals. Interns from the Austrian Cultural Forum also took part in the event and the British Council interns were of course present since the lunch was taking place in their offices. Interns working at other institutes such as Instituto Cervantes, the Goethe-Institut and the Finnish cultural institute also joined the lunch. 
 
In total, around twenty people were there to share dishes from their country and talk about their experience in a friendly atmosphere.
